Meet Our Founder

Calah Milliman, Vero Beach Moms Non Profit

She Strong was born from a place of personal experience and deep conviction. After walking through her own health challenges, Calah Milliman came face to face with the gaps so many women encounter — a lack of clear guidance, whole-person care, and safe space to ask hard questions.

As the founder of Vero Beach Moms Nonprofit, Calah had already built a mission around walking with women through motherhood. But this next chapter — the one about hormones, healing, and being whole — needed its own space.

That’s why she launched She Strong: a wellness initiative built to inform, support, and uplift women through every season of their physical and emotional health.

With Christ at the center and community at the table, Calah continues to lead with faith, courage, and a heart for women to be well — inside and out.

With nearly a decade of experience as a certified group fitness instructor across multiple formats—including strength training, dance, barre, and mat Pilates—Crystal understands firsthand how movement transforms not just bodies, but lives.

As a former exhausted mom who discovered her own path to wellness through group fitness, Crystal is passionate about creating accessible, empowering spaces where women can reclaim their health and find genuine joy in how they move. Before founding JoyFit, she was an award-winning high school teacher, bringing the same dedication to encouraging growth and building confidence into every class she leads.

Debbie Ekland, M.S., CCC-SLP

Debbie is a Pediatric Speech-Language Pathologist with over 17 years of experience, and the heart behind Bridge the Gap — a mobile and virtual support service designed to empower mothers and young families.

Her calling into this field began with a personal story: as a child, Debbie developed a stutter after a fall. When her parents brought her to a speech pathologist, they were told she simply needed to slow down when she spoke. And it worked — her fluency improved. That simple moment left a lasting mark. Debbie never forgot the power of being heard and guided — and it’s what led her to pursue speech-language pathology in college.

Since then, she’s worked in public charter schools, outpatient pediatric clinics, and private homes — always with a mission to support children’s communication and development, and to equip parents with tools they can trust.

As a motherhood educator, Debbie specializes in postpartum support, helping moms feel less overwhelmed and more confident as they navigate their baby's first year. Her signature Bundle of Joy Package offers milestone tracking and parent education from day one, creating space for bonding and healthy development.

Teresa Eury, MPH, RDN, LDN

Teresa Eury, MPH, RDN, LDN, is a Registered and Licensed Dietitian Nutritionist, and mom of two boys who keep life anything but boring. She knows firsthand how hard it is to juggle hormones, health, and the chaos of everyday life (while still wanting to enjoy tacos on a Tuesday).

With her mix of science, humor, and real-life strategies, Teresa helps people simplify nutrition, calm digestive drama, and feel human again, without giving up the foods they love.

She’s also the author of Silly Acts and the Attack Against My Nutrient Grabber: Gabrael’s Diagnosis with Celiac Disease, a children’s book that brings hope, laughter, and clarity to families navigating celiac disease.

She believes wellness is about balance: nourishing your body, feeding your soul, and yes, making room for chocolate.

Joy Nottage

Hi, I’m Joy Nottage. I’m a wife, mother of 5, and "Gigi" to 3 awesome boys and 1 beautiful girl. Believe me — I understand the challenges of balancing personal well-being, work, and family!

At one point in my life, I was overweight, had very little energy, and way too many things on my plate. I was running myself ragged — and one day I realized that SOMETHING had to change. Through a baby-step process, I began to lose weight, build muscle, feel energized, and FINALLY start living a life I loved.

It was during that journey that I discovered my passion for fitness. I became an ACE-certified personal trainer because I knew there were others out there just like me — and I wanted to help them.

NJoyLife Personal Fitness was created for ANYONE who wants to be healthier and more fit, but just doesn’t know where to start. I teach people how to lose fat, build muscle, and eat for the body they’ve always desired — and I empower them to become more than they ever thought possible!

Rachel Toperzer, LCSW

Hi! Allow me to introduce myself — my name is Rachel Toperzer. I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and the proud owner of Growing Emotions Mental Health Therapy.

I was born and raised in Lynchburg, Virginia, but I’ve called Vero Beach home since 2015. After graduating college, I moved here to help care for my grandmother. I grew up visiting this area to see my grandparents and have always loved our little town. Not long after moving, I met my now‑husband — and we couldn’t think of a better place to raise our two beautiful kids.

Being a mom can be super hard — trust me, I get it! That’s a big part of why I opened my practice: to support and care for this community we’re raising our families in.

Growing Emotions Mental Health Therapy provides compassionate, effective services for infants, children, adolescents, and their families. The practice offers trauma-informed support for anxiety, depression, and emotional regulation, while equipping parents and caregivers with tools to strengthen family connection and reduce stress. All services are rooted in creating safe, nurturing environments where healing and growth can thrive.

Heather Zevin

Dr. Heather Zevin is a pelvic health and orthopedic physical therapist who is passionate about supporting women through pregnancy, postpartum, and every stage of life.

After her own experiences becoming a mother, she recognized how many women weren’t getting the care they needed—and it inspired her to focus her career on pelvic health.

With over 20 years of experience, Heather combines her background in orthopedics with her training in Pilates and dry needling to help women build strength, improve movement, and feel at home in their bodies again. She especially enjoys working with clients who are navigating hip, back, or pelvic pain, incontinence, or pelvic floor dysfunction.

Heather continues to stay inspired and up-to-date by attending events like The Endometriosis Summit and Pelvicon, and she loves bringing fresh ideas back to her community in Vero Beach. Her goal is simple: to elevate pelvic health care and help women feel strong, supported, and resilient.

Real Women. Real Struggles. Real Strength.

"Anxiety, miscarriage, and the faith that brought me back." — Mary Rutherford

Read Mary's story below.

If you have a personal story about motherhood, mental health, hormonal struggle, or faith journey — we’d be honored to feature it and amplify voices of recovery and resilience.

Hi Mamas! My name is Mary Rutherford! I am 39 years old and an incredibly proud mother of two boys and two fur baby girls! My sweet boys are 100% boy – wild, crazy, loving, and oh so fun! They are full of joy and I pray they continue to hold onto their sweet innocence for as long as possible. Not only am I a mom, but also a wife. I am incredibly lucky to have been married to my best friend for 16 years and counting. He loves and supports me unconditionally.

As a child I struggled with anxiety and even the most simple situations would cause my heart to race, my stomach to turn, and my body to tense up. I was making myself sick in order to avoid situations that triggered these feelings. Over time, I learned to manage, but never had the full escape from anxious feelings. Fast forward many years to my third pregnancy that was completely unexpected. We weren’t financially prepared, the stress built up, and we worried endlessly about what the future would hold. But, in all things, faith and love got us through and we were excited for the slight change of plans. That is until I lost the baby 12 weeks into my pregnancy. As the most heartbreaking thing I experienced, my anxiety went through the roof and I blamed myself. I read books, got a new dog, and tried to escape the heartbreak. I had all the love in the world from family and friends, yet somehow still felt internally isolated.

I know how it feels to struggle, break down, and feel lost. I also know that there are ways to be supported, uplifted, and feel like you belong no matter what you’re going through. It took time for me, and I still struggle, but I have a beautiful community to stand beside.

Motherhood is constantly changing and I’m blessed to share this journey with so many amazing women!
